Scout Gaming strikes deal with Norwegian NRK

Scout Gaming Group has entered into an agreement with Norwegian NRK AS, Norway’s public service radio and television, as well as the country’s largest television channel, for delivery of the company’s fantasy sports platform.

The agreement stipulates that Scout Gaming will provide a free-to-play platform for NRK, initially for the summer’s Soccer World Cup. The agreement also includes that NRK and commercial Norwegian TV2 will enter into a partnership where each company’s viewers will be able to play daily fantasy sports (DFS) against each other.

“The fact that Norway’s two largest TV channels combine and offer its viewers an opportunity to play DFS during the World Cup confirms the establishment of the gaming vertical in Europe. We have previously seen successful examples of editorial integration when Norwegian TV2 has used our gaming platform for other sports. The fact that NRK now, along with TV2, engages in an editorial collaboration will further enhance the viewer’s experience as the number of players is expected to increase, “commented Scout Gaming CEO Andreas Ternström.
